Basketball
Wanna be a baller? Whether you have mad skills or not, basketball can be a way to simply relieve stress or it can be a game of blood, sweat and tears in a more competitive world. It is a game played on a court (be it a hardwood floor or cement parking lot), where all players contribute to both offense and defense. In an organized setting, team size varies from three on each team (at a 3-on-3 tournament) up to five (at most games); but individual players can play against each other as well. The object is to score by shooting a ball through a hoop that stands 10 feet high and is attached to a backboard at each end of the court. Basketball, which began by shooting a soccer ball into a peach basket, has changed since its creation in the late 1800s, but one aspect has remained the focus since day one throwing a ball into an elevated goal. Regulation games last 40 minutes.
